Eat. Sleep. Upskill. Repeat: The 2025 playbook for continuous improvement

2025 is a great year to dive into your success. You thought it, and we agree.  You're right if you think it will take more than good thoughts.  As the saying goes, “Nothing worth having ever came easy.”  With that in mind, here are some simple ways that you can set yourself up for success in 2025:

  • A Very Particular Set of Skills — At Corporate Dining Inc. and Campus Dining, Inc., “continuous improvement” isn’t just a buzzword—it’s why we roll out of bed in the morning (well, that and coffee). When it comes to your continuous improvement, you’ve got several options, including upskilling and reskilling. Upskilling involves sharpening your skills using online courses, workshops, or certifications—some of which might be fully funded.  Reskilling is for building a brand-new skill set by earning a new degree, joining a training program, or even interning in a new field. (1) This can help set future-you up for success in an ever-changing workplace.

  • Breaking Burnout — Take advantage of those well-being programs—they’re not just nice-to-haves anymore. From hybrid work setups to wellness challenges, these perks are the new essentials. (2) A 2022 study found 71% of workers noticed their employers cared more about mental health, and 81% now consider it a job-hunting priority. (3) Self-care isn’t just trendy—it’s career/performance-boosting.

  • Plan Your Growth Goals – Are you unsure where to start on your personal growth journey? Don’t panic—a Personal Development Plan (PDP) is like a GPS for your goals by breaking big goals into bite-sized steps, helping you pinpoint your strengths, weaknesses, and action items. (4) That can mean more motivation, better productivity, and even stronger Key Performance Indicator results. Who doesn’t want that?
